Monitoring & Response

By having a monitored intruder or fire alarm system you are ensuring that your property is watched over 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Monitoring has a wide range of applications including commercial, industrial, government and residential.

Safeguard Security provides a remote monitoring service around the clock. This includes the monitoring of alarms, hold up / duress, fire alarms, medical alarm, environmental, closed circuit television, building management, and integrated security systems. When an alarm is activated, Safeguard operators will immediately notify the emergency services in the event of a fire, break-in, hold up, or medical.

Keyholders and building managers are also notified to ensure that the premises is secure after an incident and to ensure that action is taken in the event of an incident.

Safeguard also carry out environmental monitoring, monitoring air conditioner temperatures, freezers, generators, chillers, water and oil overflow, CCTV monitoring of sewers, drains, generators, machinery, etc.

Why do I need monitoring and response?

How often have you heard an alarm siren howling or seen a security strobe light flashing in front of a building or home? How many times have you actually picked up the phone and reported the alarm?

Is your alarm monitored?

Your alarm may be monitored but who is going to respond to the alarm when the monitoring centre informs you of a problem early hours of the morning?

Safeguard can provide a speedy and effective response to the alarm checking the security of your premises and ensuring all doors and windows are secure. Should there be signs of forced entry, police and designated after hours contacts are notified.

Safeguard Patrol Services delivers alarm response and patrol services through its national network of mobile patrol vehicles and its network of accredited partners and sub-contractors.

Patrol officers may be requested to attend your site for a number of reasons, including:

Security Alarm Activations: this is a single or multi sector alarm to your premises.
Loss of Communication: your alarm system fails to communicate with the monitoring centre (not available with dialler monitoring).
Partial seal of the premises: a sector of the alarm has been isolated or failed to be armed.
Equipment alarm tamper: an activation relating to tampering of alarm equipment on the premises.
Unauthorised after-hours access: entry to the premises is gained outside your defined time frames.
Late-to-close: the alarm system at your premises is left in day seal outside of specified hours.
Escort / let in: we can provide access to site or escort staff at predetermined times form the premises

On attendance to your premises the Patrol officer will undertake one of the following:

Level 1: External Alarm Response (No keys are held for the premises) The Patrol Officer will:

Visually inspect all accessible points of entry
Visually inspect all glazed areas
Report any observed security breaches to the nominated after-hours contact
Implement nominated after hours instructions
Provide an attendance report

The Patrol Officer will not:

Enter the site. This includes entry through secured gates or into areas where access cannot be gained
Re-arm the alarm system
Apprehend offenders where there is a potential safety risk or enter an area of potential risk

Alarm Attendance - If a Security Breach is Detected
Should the Patrol officer on attendance to the premises detect a security breach the Patrol Officer will;

Contact the Monitoring Centre with details of the break and enter. The Monitoring Centre will contact your nominated after hours contact to seek instructions.
Conduct a visual check of the break and enter area, if practical, to attempt to secure the crime scene and assist in ensuring potential evidence is not destroyed or compromised.
Await the attendance of Police and / or the nominated after hours contact and not leave until authorised to do so by the Monitoring Centre.
Take appropriate action to minimise loss and / or damage as per the nominated after hours contact instructions and at the customer's cost.

Response
Safeguard Patrol and Response Services has a large fleet of Mobile Patrol vehicles nationally, servicing all state metropolitan and regional areas through the use of our accredited partners and sub-contractors.

With these resources we are able to respond to alarm requests promptly; however delays may be experienced due to exceptional circumstances and resources being shared with other customers.

In these cases Safeguard shall endeavor to keep you informed and provide an ad-hoc solution. In the unlikely event that the delay exceeds 60 minutes from the time of receipt of a request for an alarm response, Safeguard will not invoice you for the response.
