Monitoring Communication Pathways

Digital Dialler Monitoring This is a cost effective method of monitoring which sends the alarm signal down the telephone line to the Safeguard Monitoring Centre. Our technology enables the alarm panel to automatically dial the monitoring centre and transmit a signal revealing the status of the panel.

Securitel Monitoring - Redundant
This form of monitoring was great in its time back in the 80's and on the way to phasing out and being replaced by wireless and Ethernet technologies. Securitel monitoring was a great benefit, no call charges and supervision of the telephone line. Although its disadvantage was that when the phone line communication was lost, no further reports are received by the monitoring centre from the client's premises.

GPRS / Dial Up:
This solution uses GPRS as the primary polled alarm transmission path. 90 second polling is the standard poll rate over GPRS. If the customer wished to have a faster polling rate, then 20 second polling could be implemented over GPRS for an additional charge.

If the GPRS path also becomes unavailable, then the Multipath-IP STU will select the ISP dialup path to maintain polling. The STU dials the ISP and establishes an IP session, then starts polling. This IP session will stay online for as long as the primary path is unavailable until the allowable ISP dialup time for that month expires. When the primary path becomes available, the Multipath-IP STU will revert back to polling over GPRS.

In the unlikely event that all of these polled paths are unavailable, there are also traditional backup paths such as PSTN dialler or GSM, over which alarm and event data can be sent.

GPRS Monitoring
Particularly suited for remote sites and ease of installation, this solution uses GPRS as the polled alarm transmission path. 90 second polling is the standard poll rate over GPRS. If the customer wished to have a faster polling rate, then 20 second polling could be implemented additional charge.

If the GPRS path also becomes unavailable, then the Multipath-IP STU will select one of the traditional backup paths such as PSTN dialler or GSM, over which alarm and event data can be sent.

Ethernet / GPRS Monitoring
This solution uses the customer's existing Ethernet connection as the primary polled alarm transmission path. The Ethernet connection might be via a LAN or WAN connection to the internet at a larger commercial site, or an ADSL or Cable connection to the internet at a small business or domestic premises.

Poll rates can be set to whatever the customer chooses, however 90 second polling is the default. Rates such as 20 second polling can be implemented if desired.

If the Ethernet path becomes unavailable the Multipath-IP STU will select the GPRS path to continue polling the central station. When the primary path becomes available, the Multipath-IP STU reverts to polling over Ethernet.

In the unlikely event that all of these polled paths are unavailable, there are also traditional backup paths such as PSTN dialler or GSM, over which alarm and event data can be sent.

Multi-Path Monitoring: 5 Pathways

CCTV Remote Monitoring Over IP
Remote monitoring through CCTV technology provides an effective method of monitoring a site reducing the need for permanent manned guarding. From the Safeguard Monitoring Centre, our operators can observe activity that might be taking place on site. CCTV remote monitoring provides perimeter protection as well as visual verification via IP
(Internet Protocol)

Audio and Visual Verification
Our alarm verification technology provides vital information for the police in the event of an intrusion. We provide audio and visual verification which enable our operators to see and hear intruders through cameras and microphones which transmit real-time sounds and can track and pinpoint the location of the intruder through our point identification and sequential verification technology.
